If you’re a candidate in a technical interview and you’ve been asked to run FairlyHire, this page explains — in plain language — exactly what the agent does before you decide to consent. The agent itself shows you the same summary and asks for your consent before it starts.
What FairlyHire is for
FairlyHire checks for AI-assisted cheating tools that hide themselves from ordinary screen sharing. Its goal is to give honest candidates a level playing field — not to watch you.
What the agent does
- Runs on your own computer for the interview only.
- Looks for known cheating tools among your running programs.
- Detects windows hidden from screen capture — the specific trick those tools use to stay invisible during a screen share.
What the agent never does
- It does not capture or record your screen.
- It does not log your keystrokes.
- It does not access your webcam or microphone.
- It does not read or upload your files.
- It does not report ordinary apps — your browser, music, chat, or games.
What the interviewer sees
Only an integrity verdict — Clean, Suspicious, or Caught — and any specific findings (for example, that a window was detected hiding from screen capture). The interviewer does not receive your screen, your files, or a list of your everyday apps. The service does not collect your name or email; you are linked only to the interview’s join code.
Your choice
- You consent before monitoring starts — or you can decline.
- If you decline, no findings are sent.
- You can stop at any time by closing the agent.
